Earlier today I was playing CS:GO and noticed my fps was far below what it was when i first got the game. I was originally playing with ~270 fps, last month I noticed my fps was ~200, which, while still completely playable, was kind of worrying. However, today, I noticed my fps was at 70-80 while playing on resort, and 80-100 on agency, not to mention, while on a community deathmatch server, I had ~20-30, which was completely unplayable when used to 60, especially on a fps game. Not to mention this ruins my plans for upgrading to a 144 Hz monitor.

I'm playing on a GTX 970, AMD FX 8320, and 16Gb of RAM (even though my PC only recognizes 8Gb, but that's a problem for another day). I took some screenshots of MSI Afterburner graphs after the game, but I don't where to upload them for you guys to see it, ill post it wherever you recommend. There was definite high usage of 1 of the cores of my cpu (~90%) even though it hardly used any other cores at all. My GPU was at ~50% usage, and my RAM at almost exactly 50%. All settings are on the lowest possible, even though if I max out the settings it doesn't make more than a 5-10 fps difference. Any ideas?

P.S. This is my first discussion on this site, so I'm not sure if its in the right thread, but I know people are helpful here, and that's what I need.

I accidently voted you down, but that's beside the point lol. I tried it with multi core on and off, no change to fps
