HDMI will not display from GPU to monitor?

I recently built a gaming PC with an R9 280x graphics card. It worked fine for the first few days on my monitor, and when I went to my friend's house it worked fine on my his TV for the first night, but stopped working the next morning. We took it back to my house to see if it would work with my monitor as it had just yesterday, but it didn't. We have tried multiple HDMI cords, moving the card to a new PCI slot, and we even got an R9 255X out of my old computer to see if it would work, but to no avail. Is this a problem with my motherboard, or drivers?

Ok this may sound stupid but have you tried plugging the wire all the way in. I mean I was haveing a black screen once, because of the wire not inserting till the end on the port.

I can't put it into the old PC, the PSU isn't enough to support it and i can't put the new PSU into the old PC. I put the graphics card from my old PC into the new one, and it still didn't work with HDMI.
