I'm making a complete build for a friend, and I suggested to him that surround sound headphones would greatly improve his positioning of enemies. As far as I have looked into forums, it seems a stereo headset with a sound card would be best. Whats a good combination for $200?
Heres the part list.

It does help to know almost exactly where your opponents are located though in competitive matches, which is what he needs. I'll look at that pair.
He also plans to listen to music a lot, so that $50 set wouldnt fit it. And, I've heard that virtual surround sound isnt very good.

Yeah they are full 5.1 or virtual 7.1 they have 4 40mm audio drivers per ear. I know how the surround audio works in shooters, that is why I bought them.

I swear by them, unless playing 1 player then i prefer my surround sound so I can hear people if they show up to my house.

I would still think that using a sound card would give higher quality virtual surround sound, with a more expensive pair of headphones giving better audio (obviously). Would the HyperX Cloud 1 be any good? Thats from the top of my mind by the way, so dont judge me if I spelled something wrong.
