I am at the moment running csgo at 150fps and i want more(dont start with the eye cant see the difference) so should i upgrade to a gtx960 from a 660 or upgrade to a i5 from a amd fx6300?

Solution
Don't even bother. The eye can't see higher than that (I know, you already mentioned it) and I HIGHLY doubt your monitor can even display framerates higher than that. There is literally 0 point in upgrading. You're better off flushing some cash down the toilet and watching it swirl down

Ummm, is there really a reason to upgrade when you're already pushing FPS higher than most monitors can output?

If you move to an i5, you'll have to change motherboards, re-install the OS and possibly buy a new key for the OS (depending on current version).

Can you post your entire build? (make and models please)

Because moeny doesnt grow on trees. And you want to count frames . Go invest in better mouse or better games. Anyways logically a 960 will give you more boost.

For games like the Witcher, you're in a tough spot because you're gonna have to get an i5 to see good performance in modern AAA games. If you get an i5, then your CPU is going to be significantly more powerful than your GPU and it will not be utilized to it's full potential. If you upgrade GPU, the FX 6300 will bottleneck it.

Frames aren't everything. Yes it's a nice number that we use as a benchmark but don't get tripped up on it. You should play the game and what makes you happy. If you don't have a 144Hz monitor, you're not even using the 150 FPS which means you're not benefiting from the FPS the system is generating. As others have suggested, upgrading to get a higher number is simply wasting money.

GRU is said it best.
