Hello.
I am currently choosing the parts for my first build. I have been researching parts and guides for about three weeks now. This is my build idea so far

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WVKHFT

I am planning on getting the Sapphire Radeon R9 280x but I have a problem. I have to choose between a Dual-X and a Tri-X. This may sound stupid but, what is the difference between the two? I see that the Tri-X is more expensive (base price). Also, should I get it? Its currently only shown to be on Newegg.com but doubt its not on other websites.

Also, there's a compatibility note on my build that says:
"ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the Rosewill REDBONE ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports."
Does this mean I have to get a different case for it to work properly?

Thank you for your help and sorry if my questions are stupid. I am 16 and I'm a noob to this stuff.

Solution

If you can afford it, the R9 280X is faster than the R9 280.
The trix version is a better cooler than the Dual-X. If it is a small difference then get the tri-X if not, the Dual-X is fine.
With the case, you just can't use USB 3.0 on the front panels. If you want USB 3.0 on your front panels, you need to get a case that support USB 3.0.

Thank you for your help. I am really stupid. The R9 280 is Dual-x and the R9 280x is Tri-x so now i have a new question: Is the 280x worth the price ($249.99 but it has a mail-in rebate making it $229.99) if the 280 is $197.99?

Ok thank you. I changed the case so it has USB 3.0.
