I tried putting in 2X 8GB corsair DDR4 sticks of ram to add to my 4X 4GB sticks already installed on an ASROCK X99 extreme4 MOBO, but the screen does not display anything. I have tried upgrading the bios (ver. 2.0), resetting CMOS by removing the battery on the motherboard for 1+ minutes, and changing the different slots of the new sticks of ram, but with no success. Someone please help. Thanks.

What mobo, CPU and DRAM model numbers? sounds like a X58 which if it is, it more than likely isn't compatible with the 8GB sticks and/or they simply don't want to play with the 4GB sticks,,,will know more and prob other options when we know your hardware

It is an ASROCK x99 extreme4 motherboard, i7-5820 CPU, and currently has 4X 4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 2400 (PC4-19200) RAM (BLS4K4G4D240FSA). Those sticks were fine so I decided to go with the same brand/style, just the 2X 8GB (BLS2K8G4D240FSA) and have an extra couple slots available in the future should I wish to expand. I kept the 4X4 set in place in slots A1, B1, C1, & D1, and only used the four open slots (A2, B2, C2, and D2) for the 2X8GB set (I started in A2 and B2 and went from there when that didn't work). Thank you for the help.
