Recently my PC has been shutting down randomly while I play labor intensive games such as Battlefield 4 and Grand Theft Auto V. I have come to the conclusion that it is due to CPU overheating considering that it reaches 75-80C before crashing. Here are my specs:
CPU = FX 9370
CPU Cooler = TPC 812
Motherboard = Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX
Memory = 8GB DDR3-1866
Storage = 1TB Seagate 128MB cache
GPU = Msi R9 280X
Case = Rosewill Throne Full Tower
PSU = RM850 850w
OS = Windows 8.1
Before people have said that it is because this CPU should only be used under water but I saw a review of my TPC 812 saying that he had used an FX 9590 and had been able to sufficiently cool it. Here is the review:

5 out of 5 eggsworks really well
This review is from: Cooler Master TPC 812 - High Performance CPU Cooler with 2 Vapor Chambers and 6 Heatpipes
Pros: I have to highlight the fact that you need to make sure it fits your case. my new case Rosewill Blackhawk clears this by 1/2 inch, after I removed the side panel fan. My old case was a little smaller Cougar Solution, I didn't try it on but I guarantee you it will not fit. I use this on a fx 9590 and it seems to never go over 44 c on bf3 ultra settings. idles my cpu at around 20-25c. comes with brackets for additional fan to configure push/pull. I haven't used this but I'm sure it will drop couple degrees. It's relatively quiet but my other fans are loud, so I cant tell you how quiet it is for sure
Cons: it will block 2 ram slots closest to the cpu if you use fancy heatsink ones, but not if you used regular ram without heatsink, or low profile ram
Other Thoughts: just out of curiouslity I decided to see if my old ram will fit the slots. it doesn't have any heatsinks and with a slight effort it went right in and room to spare above it. prolly 1/2 inch,
In my setup I used balistix sport VLP and regular crucial balistix sport and all those fit. If you have the fanciest and biggest heatsinks on your ram don't even think about this cpu cooler. and don't waste your time to give negative feedback about it. This would be your fault..
If you are not ready to go water cooling yet, this is about as close as you will get on air only.
The only other reason for the overheating is my case. I don't think the airflow is particularly great because when I open up the case the air inside is very hot.
Thanks for all the help.
