i know that the laptop versions of gpus are weaker compared to desktop versions. ex gtx 970m is weaker than gtx 970. is this the same for ssds? is the m.2 ssd slower, less durable than a standard desktop ssd?

Solution
I would assume not as they will be connected in the same way. The only reason why cpu and gpus are weaker in laptop is because of their size. Desktops tend to be larger so the graphics card and the cpu is also larger which allows for more power.

SSDs on the other hand have a standard size and assuming that it is connected via the same interface on both laptops and desktops, I don't think it should make any difference.

Correct me if I am wrong as I am not a desktop expert.
