Super low download speed, really high upload

on xfinity wifi, im at my friends, but i have the same internet back at home. the router is in the same room.

My download speed has been under 1 MB/s usually, and the upload has been as high as 30 MB/s I am pretty advanced with port forwarding, and routing, and manipulating ip addresses, and nothing seems to help strengthen the wifi signal. any tips?

I'd make sure nobody else is downloading on your connection. That seems to be the most likely culprit.
Then make sure no machines on your network have malware. Then do a scan and find select either channel 1, 6, or 11. (the one with the least interference from other AP's.
