Greetings :(
I try to install Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit OS on my current PC, but I keep running into errors during installation. Since this is the 3rd-4th issue I ran into during last 2 hours of unsuccessfull tries installing that OS, I give up and need your wise help folks.

What's happening:
When the system should start copying files on the HDD it stops responding, and all I can do is to Reset the PC.

My PC specs:
IIRC some time ago I checked somehow if my PC is compatible with Win8 based on some requirements found on web, but I may be wrong.

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 64 5000+ @2,6GHz
RAM: 2x2 GB DDR2 @800Mhz + 2x1 GB DDR2 @800Mhz (different marks)
HDD: 250GB sATA II 7200rpm Seagate Barracuda
PSU: 400W Fortron 60-GLN
GPU: AMD/ATI Radeon R7 240 1GB GDDR5
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2 64bit

Additional informations:
- I am installing genuine Win 8.1 OEM
- Downloaded the Windows from official Microsoft web with the tool they provide for that
- Created an installation DVD with the official windows .iso
- I was not able to run a compactibility test with the tool Microsoft provides (Windows8 Upgrade Assistant) - when I try to launch that in my current OS (Win XP 64 Pro) I get an error stating: This platform is not supported.
- I would like to keep my current OS (Windows XP Pro 64bit on C: partition)
- I would like to install the Win8.1 to D: partition
- my HDD is sATA II split up into 3 partiotions (C: = current OS WinXP64Pro; D: = empty; E: = data/games)
- althought my PC should have USB 2.0 I see nothing like that during PC boot-up (where it lists the ports, IRQ, etc., there are only USB 1.1 ports listed
- I have tried installing Win8.1 from USB stick, but the PC stops responding when the Win logo appears (I may retry that one more time just to make sure it was not just some coincidence or slow USB port combined with my impatience)

Anything that would help me is highly appreciated.
