It's a really old desktop, but I like the metal frame so I'm keeping it.

Here's everything I know:
- Motherboard is U723D (4memory slots) and its red.
Feel free to laugh but that's everything I know for certain. I want to build a gaming machine, and really have little experience, this whole computer is brand new to me.

It runs Windows 7 32 bit I think

While you are doing something I got the list of all Dell approved processors:

E6600 2.4GHz dual core
E6700 2.66GHz dual core
Q6600 2.4GHz quad core
QX6700 2.66GHz quad core
QX6800 3.0GHz quad core must have G0 (zero) stepping for stability, can be overclocked by BIOS to 3.73 more or less safe, above it is a problem related to CPU quality.

Power Supply is proprietary, not standard ATX, still 1000 watt should be enough.
