IS Intel Core i7 i7-4790K CPU (Quad Core 4GHz, Socket H3 LGA-1150) processor will fit my motherboard which is ASRock ATX DDR3 LGA 1150 Motherboards FATAL1TY H97 KILLER please tell me, I tried to Google it but I could not find an answer so I am asking you guys. Thanks

Solution
Yes, it will fit fine. However, you won't be able to overclock the i7 in that board, as the H97 chipset only allows a locked multiplier. Have you considered the Xeon E3-1231 V3? It keeps all the advantages of an i7 (Hyper-threading with awesome single core performance) at the price of an i5.

Unfortunately, your friend doesn't appear to know much about computers.

For gaming alone, this build would be much better:

If you're looking to do some video editing, then I can definitely recommend the Xeon E3. It's effectively an i7 4770 but without the integrated graphics. Because you are going to use a dedicated video card, you won't need the integrated graphics.

Xeon E3 + high-end H97 motherboard + 16GB of RAM + 500GB SSD = awesome video editing machine.

The money saved on the cooler, motherboard and CPU can be put to much better use for video editing and streaming by increasing the amount of RAM and having a large capacity SSD to store work-in-progress video files.
