Major difference in Firestrike scores with better system

Hi, all

I just finished overclocking my AMD 8350 with two XFX stock R9 290X cards in Crossfire and I get a score of 8901 on FireStrike vs 13,146 by someone with "worse" hardware:

Any ideas why my score is so low relatively?

Definitely not firing on all cylinders, maybe someone with expertise in sli will chime in and help you but it looks like a setting somewhere or something is holding you back...your graphics score is way low for two cards.

Yup - was aiming for Oculus with the recommended 290x - and I have two of em - underperforming the "oculus" spec.

I just switched SSDs to a second OS I have... Updated to the latest 290x drivers... and I get 12,513

So its somewhere in "software" for sure :-/

Well that's a lot better, wouldn't have thought switch to another ssd though. Maybe a driver issue on the other ssd or something. Did you use the ddu uninstaller and do in safe mode when you installed the other cards?

Yup... I am applying some MS patches... we'll see if anything kills it. Ill clone the good SSD to the bad one and go from there...

Ill run another FireStrike each update/software install I make...

CloneZilla and dual SSDs FTW!

So the real culprit was the Oculus VR software. Takes scores of 11k down to 9 or8k consistently
