Bought a used LG Volt (boost mobile)- Guy said all I had to do was buy more time, like a tracfone

I don't think this is true. It appears to buy more time I have to know the PIN (which I have) but it appears it's attached to an account.

Anyone know about this?

Can I use the same SIM card?
Should I just see what happens?

I'm a little concerned...

Contact Boost Mobile and ask them, you should not be using the existing account on the phone since that is the prior owner's phone number. You'd have to get your own SIM card to activate the phone.
