I have an Alienware x51 (2012) with an Nvidia dt 545 GFX Card but im using the other built in intel graphics card as my main one because the nvidia kernel driver stops working but i hooked up another monitor using dvi and that moniter always gets green and pink boxes and if i drag stuff on the other monitor the one using dvi itll freeze and both monitors screens will go black and i have to force shut it down to get it working again

This sounds like the videocard is dead (green pixels are artefacts generally given by a faulty videocard).
