Hello! long time reader first time poster. I have read alot and its hard to find a build with most being outdated or what not.

Here are my specifications:

*I love lights in my case and want something with red/blue lights
*I also want to mess with a display on the case.
*I want to get into streaming and I have a GREAT connection to do so
*I have windows/Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor
*Possibly overclocking and also built for the future.

Thanks for your guys help! I am really looking forward to the project

This is the best one I could make without it being too weak nor too expensive. It's $60 over budget, but it's still good. If you take advantage of the discounts it's $890.All prices are from Newegg.
Here:

CPU - Intel Core i5-4690K $239.99
CPU Cooler - Corsair H60 $64.05
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 $119.99
Memory - Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 $51.99
Storage - Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 7200RPM $70.99
Video Card - Asus GeForce GTX 960 2GB $209.99
Case - NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case $69.99
Power Supply - Corsair RM 450W $89.99
CPU Cooler Fans (2 of them) - Noctua NF-F12 $29.99

Total (10 / 10 Items): $959.92

I choose this MOBO, because Gigabyte MOBOs have Killer E2200 Ethernet port, alowing up to 50% faster game traffic and up to 200% video traffic

I choose these CPU cooler fans, because they have high CFM, helping air penetration through the radiator.
You can use the original fan from the cooler to put in front of the case.

I was going to include an SSD for greater performance, but that whould take the budget through the roof

For the LEDs go here: https://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/101-sleeved-led-kit-case-accessory.html
This is a red themed build so get red ones.

Good luck :*

The build above is unbalanced for the money, You can get significantly better performance for much less.

Thanks, I though of adding an Hyper EVO 212 too, but I figured if Iam going with an unlocked processor and he may be overclocking I may as well put in a water cooler. If he's not going to overclocking though the EVO is fine. :)

Which Videocard would you upgrade to if I could shell out another 100 on your build?

The Hyper 212 EVO cools processors the same as the H60, so the only scenario I can think of where an H60 would be better is if his ram sticks have tall heat spreaders and installing the EVO would be difficult, but even then there would be better options. :p

At that point, a GTX970 or R9 290X would be your options, but I believe the two cards perform close.

The 390 is the best card In the 300 dollar range, beats the 970 and has a substantially higher amount of vram, But seeing as it only performs 7-10% better than the 290 you're better off saving money buying the 290 instead.

The only reasons to spend $100 more on the 390 against the 290 are as follows:

-You need the 8GB of Vram (Video editing, 3D modeling, heavy skyrim nodding etc.)

-You are a performance enthusiast and want the absolute best you can get for the money you have on hand. (Despite the increasingly diminishing returns.)
