Hey, I asked a while back for a list that was around $1200 and with a much bigger case. I came to realise that I go around to friend's houses a lot and that I'd have nothing to play on all the while this big computer is sitting at home.

So, I decided I should make a gaming cube/portable PC.

As the title states, it will be used for gaming. I'm a bit of an NVIDIA fanboy, mainly because I understand the models of the GPUs better than AMD. I also prefer Intel over AMD, sorry. But if someone can suggest a great bang for your buck AMD CPU, I might consider. Since cable management is important and it would also be my first build, a fully modular PSU would be nice. The most important aspect that I want out of this would be the portability, I want the case to be portable and not entirely bulky. HDD wise, I don't really need an SSD because it will just waste my budget, I can live without one for now, and the opportunity to add one later would be nice as well. Optical drive, yes and no, I don't really mind. RAM, 8GB minimum.

The games I will be playing:

The majority of the Call of Duty games I will buy on steam when I build the PC, due to the fact I have nothing that can run them.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which my mac book air 2013 11" can run at 120fps.

Minecraft/Modded Minecraft

Rust

ARK: Survival Evolved

Portal 2

Mount&Blade: Warband

Starbound

Terraria

There are quite a few more that I can list and a lot that I probably didn't realise that I'd like to play.

Thank you in advance, and please reply if you need anymore information on my preferences.

The i3 4170 only supports DDR3 not DDR3-1600, so I'd have to change the RAM which would result in lower-end RAM? So would it be worth going with the i3? I'm guessing in a year and a half it won't be up to scratch.

So this is the best $1000 AUD can get? Could I also get some benchmarks on what games this can run?
