Apologies if it's a trivial question. I'm planning to upgrade from my HD7850 to an Asus GTX980, currently have a Corsair 600W CX PSU. From what I've seen the Asus card needs 1x 6pin and 1x8pin power connectors, the Corsair has 2x 6+2 pins, would it be a case of plugging 1x 6+2pin and then only the 6pin element of the other cable in?

Not sure if I need any adapters or anything before ordering. Any help would be much appreciated.

Solution
That PSU has 2x 6+2-pin connectors. If you leave the 2 pins hanging loose, they're 6-pins. If you attach them (do this before plugging it into the GPU), they're 8-pins.

Don't just use the 6-pins in the 8-pin slot.
