So im planning on finally buying my first SSD! However I don't want to start fresh Windows install. and my current Hard Drive Situation is very wonky. I have a 1TB Hard Drive with two partitions First one (C:) has 200GB and has my windows partitions and drivers and my D: Drive has all my games. So if I buy an SSD I clone just the C: Partition to thee 240GB SSD and shut down my system and boot off the SSD and then format the C: Partition and then im good to go?

You should be good to go, just make sure you set the bios to boot off of the SSD over the HDD. I've seen people do the upgrade you are describing above and incorrectly boot off of the HDD instead of the SSD.
