Let me transcribe the events that have led me to my current predicament.

I built a new PC a few days ago and had Windows 7 64 bit installed on it. It ran great! Then a week later I had my computer guy install Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit in place of the Win 7. So when installing Win 8, there was some GPT UEFI/MBR error (I'm not sure what that exactly is) as the system kept saying that Win 8.1 requires a different format or something. But my stupid computer guy kept clicking "OK" on the warning screen and somehow got the Win 8.1 to install!

Win 8.1 ran GREAT, for a day! Then I started to get the BSOD CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error. My computer was stuck in a restart loop. I tried using the sfc/scannow from the command prompt but it simply said that my PC couldn't boot up in safe mode and asked me to restart it every time.

Frustrated, I called my (computer) guy but the bastard kept ignoring my pleas for help, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I got my friend to give me his win 8.1 pro on a USB drive. I loaded it into my PC but it said no OS found on drive. Now I was really pissed and not thinking very rationally, so I formatted my C drive where the Win 8.1 had been installed using help from here (http://www.techhack.co.uk/2011/03/31/format-a-hard-drive-with-command-prompt). But I only performed operations upto the "clean" part.

Now I can't even get the command prompt to load. The no OS message still pops up. Am I [adjective removed] or is there some solution to this?

Thanks for your help.

If you are still able to open it, go to changePCSettings>UpdateAndRecovery and then click the button next to "remove everything and re-install windows". If you are unable to do this, try formatting your hard-drive via your computer bios rather than command prompt. Here is a step by step: www.liutilities.com/how-to/format-a-computer-hard-drive/
If you have the USB you should be able to use that rather than the disc it asks for in the tutorial.
