Right so what internet browser are you using? for example chrome.

1)Click the right hand upper corner button below the red x box. It should have three lines across it.

2) Then click settings. Then scroll down to the bottom where it says show advance settings click that.

3) Scroll down some more until it says Downloads, Where it says C:\Users\'user'\Downloads you want to change that too D:\Downloads.

This is all assuming you are using chrome, and your second...

It depends by what you mean by default. Do you know where a lot of your data is coming from? Which folder it's going too? Do you download a bunch of stuff off a web browser? You can go to settings and change the download folder their? Do you mean steam? You'd have to reinstall steam on the d drive or whatever letter it is. Then copy and paste the data over. Or just re download everything.

Basically whenever you download something it should say specifically where it's going to install. When it says that just make a folder on your d: d rive or just choose d: drive to install to.

If you want to deafult to an extent where it installs do this.

To change the registry, follow these steps:
1. Start Registry Editor by entering “Regedit” in the search All programs.
2. Locate the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
3. Right click on the value named ProgramFilesDir & change the default value C:\Program Files to the path you want to install all your programs in.
4. Click OK and Exit.

You're essentially wanting to change the default value of the registry directory to whatever, drive letter so for instance if your second drive is called D:
Install it to D:\Program Files instead of C:\Program Files. Also make sure you make the folder Program files on your d: drive before hand. Or whatever folder for that matter just make sure the syntax is correct.

When you save something, it usually asks you where you want to save it. In those cases, you can choose the SSD. If you want, you can set up a similar folder structure on your HDD and put shortcuts to the corresponding folders in those places on your SSD, which will make all future saving easier.

Some programs have defaults that you can change during or after installation. You can elect to install programs on the HDD, although sometimes you may have to select "Custom" install.

If none of this helps, can you give some more information about your system? Which OS is installed, and on which drive? What are the two drives currently lettered? Do you have a problem navigating to in between them? Other info about your setup?

A really simple answer would be to format both, configure with just the HDD, and then add the SSD, but I'm guessing you don't want to do that.

when i download something, say from metiafire, it just downloads it to my downloads folder with no option to save as, and then move it somewhere.
and also, HFC, what do you mean format both and confidgure with the HHD and then add the SSD?

Sorry, im very new to this.

Like your SSD is too full to safely use. It needs to remain 20% free space. Currently it will operate slower than normal and not last as long. You need to get some data off of there. Do this by moving all the user folders like I stated. That way you downloads./docs/music/everything will all automatically be on the HDD, not the SSD.
