Upgrading motherboard, Amd FX-4100 without OS delete?

Is it possible to install the motherboard drivers before the hardware change and then perform a repair installation on Windows 10 Technical Preview with my freshly burned disk? After that is done, can I uninstall old motherboard drivers and continue on my quest to upgrade my processor (the one I have can't handle the voltage of the Amd FX-8350) and if you can, please find me a motherboard with the same drivers and chipsets as my GA-78LMT-USB3 so i don't need to do all this. :??:


EDIT: I forgot to say I have an Antec Nine Hundred case, a Nvidia Geforce GT 610 and a 750 watt power suply.

EDIT 2: I also need to know if I can move all my programs to a different hard drive without uninstalling and reinstalling all of them, and if they will work on my new computer.

Can i find a mobo with same drivers and chipset as my AM3+ USB 3.0 "GA-78LMT-USB3"? And make sure the price tops out at $200 Canadian

You shouldnt get a bsod when switching motherboards anymore.......... but ive still seen it happen to even myself. I would get a new chipset motherboard that will last like a gigabyte 990fx ud3 motherboard. if you get a bsod then all you have to do is reset the registry using your windows installation disk. Done this about 5-6 times and it workd 100% of the time.

i just need better voltage for a new 8350 im planning on buying...






and can i keep all my programs and files? a lot of work files and homework are still on there, and I don't want to take 3-4 days reinstalling my 0.7 terabytes of programs and games

You don't need to format any other partions other than C drive

Whenever you change the hardware in the rig, the next step at boot up is to enter the BIOS and check if everything is as you had left it. Secondly, boot into Safe Mode, let windows get a hint of something new in the system and let it configure it's own drivers for it. Then reboot into normal mode and use the latest Driver for the equipment put from the Main Chipset Manufacturers site.

thanks bro, I really needed some of that information before buying a new mobo and/or processor. im gonna write all that down so once i do it i'll know what to do
