I've been planning a build for about 2 months now. I have been doing so much research on the cpu, because people argue that Intel is more powerful than AMD (In these circumstances, not overall) I intended on having an i5-4460, but my current build has an FX-6300. People say the 6300 is not good enough for modern gaming. In my case, i will be recording while playing games, and light to medium video editing. the most graphics intensive game i will be playing is GTA V. Everything else is mostly indie games. Could i run GTA V 1080p 60fps while recording? Also is the build future proofed? If i wanted to game more modern titles in the future, could I? Also if you notice any thing like incompatibilities or bottlenecks, the info would be much obliged.

Specs:
CPU: FX-6300
RAM: 1x8G stick of ddr3-1600
Motherboard: MSI 760GMA-P34(FX)
GPU: MSI Gefore GTX 960 2GB

Thank you for any help on this, i'm a bit of a novice :)

The i5 is still the better choice or even better yet a Xeon 1231 v3 as it has the same power as an i7 for the price of a i5. A R9 280X is faster and cheaper than the 960 it is a better choice. Also make sure you get a quality power supply. Look in my signature for the PSU Tier List.

The cheapest r9 280x i've been able to find is 20 dollars more expensive then the 960.

Where do you live?
Even a R9 280 is still faster.

That 960 is the cheapest one I would consider getting. All the others cheaper have some issues with heat.

Is it not enough RAM slots or no SLI support?

It's surely more than i'm trying to put into my budget, but if you say the vram heatsinks are a must i'll get it.

Shadowplay was the reason i wanted to go with an nvidia card, so that's what i'll be doing. and for the PSU it's an EVGA 80+ certified 500w
