New 1866MHz RAM running at 1333MHz in Windows, can't find a way to enable 1866MHz?

Hi Guys

Earlier today I received my new 16GB Kingston Fury X RAM which is classed at 1866MHz. I put them in my system and all seemed good until I saw that task manager is saying they're running at 1333MHz (Windows 8.1).

I did a little bit of Googling and it seems that systems default to either 1333MHz or 1600MHz, apparently there's an 'XMP' option in the BIOS which when enabled makes full use of the RAM's frequency. I looked at my BIOS and found an XMP option (see image below) but it's disabled and there's no option to enable it. I also found a 'DRAM Frequency' option, but when I select 1866MHz and reboot, the system still runs at 1333MHz.

My motherboard is an Asus Gryphon Z97 Armor Edition (micro-ATX) and definitely supports 1866MHz. I just can't figure out how to enable it, the BIOS is horrible to navigate and the manual shines no light on the subject either.

I've tried clicking everywhere on it as well as using arrow keys to see if it can scroll down to a hidden enabled option. Nothing else shows other than what's in the screenshot above. I've just noticed another guy make a post with an identical issue, same RAM and BIOS.

My motherboard uses a piece of software called 'EZ Update' to update the BIOS through Windows but it's saying there is no new environment to update.

SOLUTION:

Your comment here wasn't the exact solution, but I just saw your comment on the other post mention CPU-Z giving accurate readings compared to task manager. Turns out CPU-Z is showing 932MHz which with dual channel is about 1866MHz. Task manager lies!
