Hello,
I just upgraded GPU and PSU, but I am thinging, that I can just go all the way now.
Looking for advices and ideas about what to buy.

My current PC:

MB: ASUS M5A97 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-6300 + XIGMATEK Loki II
GPU: MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G (replaced GIGABYTE Radeon 779OC-2GD)
RAM: 8GB - Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 + 4GB (2x2GB) older Kingstone but also 1333 MHz and CL9
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 (replaced LC POWER LC550-550W/PFC)
HHD: SSD OZC ARC 250 GB with Windows 7 Ultimate + 2x older HDD for other data

I am playing with 1080p resolution, mostly MMORPGs, MOBAs and other MP games, and from time to time some good SP RPG like Witcher 3.

I had problem mostly with MMORPG with constant FPS dropping below 24 during action, but just replacing GPU did not solved it. And it is a shame to have such GPU while still not be able to play my games with 60 FPS or atleast 30 stable..I think main problem is CPU.

I was thinking to upgrade to:
- Intel Core i5-4690K ( with something like Cooler Master Hyper 212+ EVO)
- ASUS Z97-PRO GAMER GAMING MB
- 2x Kingston 8GB DDR3 1866MHz CL10 HyperX Fury Black Series

What do you think?

- Any viable AMD gaming CPU, so i could keep my MB?
- Should I just keep old 1333Mhz RAM and add new one, because by upgrading this I wont get much extra performance?
- Something better for the money, or something cheaper with same power?

I hope to get something to last for few years and then be able to OC to get some extra power if needed.

Thanks for any help,

Farwi

The 4690K and Z97 proposed upgrade is an excellent path to follow. AMD currently has no processor line-up that would equate to an upgrade from an FX 6300.

While you'd see little to no gain from jumping to memory with a slightly higher clock rate and same latency, it would be pretty hard to mix and match, even with identical dimms. I'd either remain with your current dimms or justify an upgrade to 16GB of 1600mhz cas 9
