My PC acts laggy even though my internet is just fine.

It started 3 days ago. One day my PC was laggy. Games would lag skip all over the place, YouTube videos of any pixel quality would take ages to buffer. So the first day I ignored it, thinking it was just a once in awhile thing that happens with the internet, and moved on. I do use wireless internet, i cannot, repeat CANNOT used wired internet so don't recommend it, my PC and router are many feet away to do that with. But wireless never gave me problems before.

Day two; Hmm, ok. Still laggy, Maybe the internet is just taking awhile to fix on Xfinity's end. Ill take another day off from the PC and wait, no problem.

Day 3: Ok, wtf. My tablets, phones, and laptops have no lag whatsoever. Steam multiplayer games do not lag like hell on my laptop, and across all my devices other than my PC, I can watch 1080p60fps videos with zero buffering. WTF?

Day 4; I did a system file restore on my PC. For the first couple hours, my PC acted fine. I thought I fixed the problems. I could watch 1080p or any quality for that matter with no buffering. Games were still laggy but I just assumed it was on the servers end.

Day 5: back to to bullsh**. Everything on my PC is laggy again. I have iolo System Mech. Pro, and it detects no viruses, malware, etc. I have ZERO clue why this is happening, I literally want to shoot my PC with my 12 gauge at this point. This makes zero sense.


EDIT: I have reset my router many times as well, and it has not worked.

Did you reset/unplug your router for 10 seconds? I have to reset mine a lot, usually fixes the slowness (even though it might have said 100mps ...it wasn't). Do you have anything metal or thick blocking the wifi transmitter to your wireless adapter? I have a wifi booster plugged in half way from mine to compensate for distance etc.

this really looks like an issue with your computer. open performance monitor and try to determine if you are dealing with CPU, memory or disk utilization, and look for specific program or service name associated with the CPU/memory or disk spike.
