Hi, I heard that the 980 ti kingpin has been released. And I am thinking that it might beat the 980 ti 2 way sli. I am going for the $1049.99 one as the performance of a sli on a one gpu is important for me. I will overclock as much, too. The $1049.99 is the fastest and the expensive model in the kingping series, indeed.
Main question: Is the 980 ti kingpin $1049.99 model powerful enough and can it act as a 2 way sli?

Solution
Yep yep yep... i love my gpus. So glad i went for FPS and overclockability and not hype...i got so much advise to wait on 900 series cards. i am glad i didint.. i get 100 average FPS in Metro last light redux ULTRA everything in 1440p. Wait for what! i got a good deal on evga classifieds 780ti's $1100 for both 6 months before 900 series cards came out. I was not interested in lower powere consumption. I have an x series 1250w. More power captain..
what you need to do is go to evga forums and see whats said from the evga fanboys on all these cards ... plenty to see

what I like to know is if they [evga] cant keep the cards they all ready got out in stock how re you planning to get this card ??? there fanboys are now asking this as well ..
I hate to think evga is heading down the BFG road

main thing is it seem if you plan to do something over what it came out of the box you looking at water this is why you can find the water coolers

from the guy the cards named after

http://forums.evga.com/STATEMENT-BY-KINGPIN-THAT-PROVES-900-SERIES-DOES-NOT-SCALE-WITH-VOLTAGE-NO-MATTER-BRAND-m2362059.aspx

I like this '' Wait, I always thought that a lower ASIC quality meant better extreme overclockability due to leaky voltage which is desirable?

So what I see here is that average Joe that won't push them that hard, for which a higher ASIC quality is better, gets stuck with paying $200 more???

Or is everything that I've read over the years incorrect?''

http://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti-KNGPN-m2368116.aspx

like evga cant supply nothing ?

http://forums.evga.com/HYBRID-Water-Cooler-kit-for-980-Ti-availability-m2356217-p2.aspx

heres what I like from the classified 980ti thread

''I have the same problems with my 980 Ti Classified - Increase of Voltage has no effect on max. GPU Clock
my max Clock is 1480Mhz on Air and Water

ASIC 69
Max Clock 1480 Mhz @ 1,18V -> not bad and better than my Reference 980 Ti ACX 2.0 ASIC 65
Stock Cooler is quiet and sufficient on this Voltage

BUT 1490 Mhz -> Driver reset on all Voltages even with Watercooling(tested until 1,34V than clocks decrease because of temperature (54°C))

Results: Higher Voltage are completely useless to reach higher GPU Clock and the Classified is for normal User with Watercooler senseless und a waste of money in my opinion compared to the Reference Design''

so what or how is the kingpin going to be any better ??? still comes with all the NVidia limitations as all the rest of the 900's

looks like maxwell2 is one of them ''a fool and his money'' kinda thing [opinion]

Really? Is this true? I will be using a corsair 80+ platinum 1000watt power supply.
