Hello, this is a very fustrating situation for me and I really need some help asap.
I just bought a new pc, HP Pro 400 G1. I turned it on, everything worked great. I went to my old pc,
removed drivers and turned it off. I then moved the GPU ( r9 270x) and PSU ( inland 650w)
to the new pc. Everythign was working just fine in one. After plugging everything up,
making sue everything is nice and tight, I turn on the Hp pro and it starts beeping 4 times, with a red flash on the power button. This happend 4 times, then a short pause, then 4 more beeps.
I tried some solutions but they didnt work, and I turned it on again, but this time
I just held the power button down and it stayed on. It still beeps 4 times if I shut it down but I have to hold it down and it will turn on anyway or something. Now trying to install the GPU and windows 8.1 is not even dectecting it. The GPU an inside is spinning but..yeah this is my problem really need some help. The power connecters were properly plugged into the CARD and I did try to re-seat the RAM, but it still beeped 4 times. I even took one out as one solution online said, but that didn't work either.I put the parts back in the older pc, everything turned on just fine, no beeps or anything. I have no idea what to do..please could someone help. what am I doing wrong?

If it's 4 short beeps. this is probably the cause. System timer failure may be due to oveclocking*, bad motherboard, or RAM error or bad RAM.

*On some posts users report overclocked CPU speed without them doing it... so it's possible some motherboards come with the system clock/multiplier unlocked.. Check your BIOS settings, reset the BIOS or make sure the clock multiplier is at the CPU stock/default speed. Also check your RAM with Memtest.
Also, updating the BIOS would be adviseable.

EDIT: Had not read it's now not even turning on... so, start with the BIOS reset, and RAM reseating,

4 beeps at start, then nothing happens...
Put the old GPU back in and see if it boots, my guess is it will. If it does then I strongly suspect your 270X is not supported by the HP motherboard, HP are known for limiting upgrade options by using a BIOS' that only operate with certain hardware. If there is a BIOS update for your system it is worth a try, you need to go through all the manuals for your PC and see if it has a list of approved upgrade parts.

Cant even get it to turn on now...it just beeps 4 times, and if I press it again, it turns on anyway, but does a 1 long beep and thats it. I dont know...new pc shouldnt even be doing this. I've bought plenty of new pcs before and swapped GPU and psu's without a problem. Should I take it back? or is there something else I can try
