GTX 970 / 690 / 780 Ti ?

There are so many people selling 690's and 780 Ti's on Ebay, I thought it might be a worthwhile consideration, compared to a GTX 970. I have several friend's looking for graphics cards in the $300 range. The games that I'm most interested in these days are GTA 5 and Witcher 3.

Please discuss.

just see benchmarks on youtube. the gtx 970 is almost equal to the gtx 780ti(oc). the gtx 970 also has a lot of overclocking headroom which makes it better.
you can take a look at the new r9 390 tough. its a great competitor to the gtx 970

I have no experience with the 690 or 780 Ti's, but I have a few assumptions in my mind.

690: I would "guess" that the 690 would be more prone to micro-stutters due to the dual GPU design. But I think the raw FPS would annihilate most cards, including a GTX 970. A con would be the 2 GB of VRAM per GPU.

780 Ti: I'm "guessing" that the performance on this card would be very good, considering the drivers have had almost two years to mature. Also, it has 3 GB of VRAM, compared to the 970's 3.5. That doesn't seem like a huge difference to me.

Better go with the gtx 970 or a r9 390. both are great performers (the r9 390 is a little faster at 1080p and much faster at higher resolutions) and are faster than the gtx780ti. gtx 690 was a great card back in the days. but 2 gigs of vram is little less for modern gaming.
