Hi I recently cloned my 500gb WD HHD to my Kingston 120 SSD using acronis 2014 and even though it says cloned successfully I am getting the error message reading "Insert boot media device and hit any key" I have done this multiple times with other SSDs and HHDs. The computer is running windows 7.

Can anyone help me understand what I need to do to fix this issue? Thanks

Hey there, Andy.

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having. I know you probably did, but I have to ask - did you remember to set the boot priority in the BIOS so that the SSD is the first boot device? As you know, cloning probably works flawlessly in 9/10 cases, but sometimes you just have to do a fresh install of your OS. Is this an OEM OS? If not, you could try using your retail DVD to try and repair the operating system and see if this fixes the problem.

Hope that helps. Please keep me posted on your progress.

Boogieman,

I did set it as the boot device, Luckily I still have the repair disk so I will give that a shot this weekend and get back to you about it. Thanks for taking the time to give me your input.
