Hi guys,

I'm trying to find some efficient and affordable offsite options for backing up around 100TB worth of data. After getting a few price quotes from company's we decided it would be cheaper to buy a JBOD rack, store it offsite and do backups every couple months. Anyone have any thoughts on what we should do?

JBoD is a horrible idea for an offsite backup system as are harddrives since they don't take kindly to transporting well. They are ok for a local backup though
I would suggest you add a good tape drive to a rack and use tape; make a local copy and an offsite copy.
Personally I like the Ts1140/Ts1150 drives from IBM and tapes can be had up to 10Tb and write at 250Mb/s (1140) and 350mb/s (1150)
