Yes, the V series is a notch better quality. We divide PSU's into a tier list. The GM series are tier 3, the lowest acceptable quality for me to recommend to anyone. The V series are tier 2, good quality. Obviously tier 1 is the best (and most expensive). Tier 4 just plain suck and tier 5 should come with a fire extinguisher. You can use the link in this reply box to see the PSU tier list. You are better with the V series (tier 2).
