amd fx heatsink fan will not fit into the asus motherboard

I have an AMD FX-8370 Black Edition cpu and a ASUS M5A99FX motherboard, they were bought as a bundle on Amazon, however I cannot for the life of me get the heat sink fan to fit. The motherboard has two pegs that I know the heat sink fan has to be clipped on, but I can't get it to fit no matter the angle of the fans lever.

Lift lever so the mounting arms are loose.
Hold the heatsink at a 30 degree angle & slot the arm on that doesn't have the lever - lower the sink onto the CPU & slot,the other one over ( may need a bit of pressure)
Pop the lever to locked.
You will get it on mate - its just about the angle you're using.
