Hi there,

So this is my very first build on my own and although it is fun trying to troubleshoot it all by myself I have given up and need some help!

So my setup:
My first build

I have finally pieced everything together! (Hooray)
I installed the OS Windows 8.1 64bit
I updated my MOBO drivers from my understand to the most up to date

Now the problem!
I go to the NVidia website to locate my driver for my new video card the Zotac GEFORE GTX 750ti 2gb version. Every time I download the driver it asks me to restart my computer, and I kid you not after trying like 4 times now, I just get stuck on the load screen and it never progresses. When I say load screen I literally mean the screen that shows the color in which you chose(In my case purple) then nothing happens. It will just sit there forever I believe if I let it go. So each time this has happened I just reboot and reload my OS system from before it went on the fritz. It is currently 3am and I am so tired and disheartened by my first build I hope that someone can enlighten me and help me solve this issue! Thank you in advance.

You said you updated the mobo drivers. Did you check on the Gigabyte website to see if the mobo needs a BIOS update with that CPU (if you haven't already done it)?
Your card is designed for a PCI Express 3.0 slot, however, your mobo doesn't have one. Make sure that the card is in the PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot. It is backward compatible with the 2.0 slot and you have to make sure that slot is the primary graphics adapter in BIOS.

I am a complete rookie after trying to figure it out I did as you stated and went through the BIOS reading EVERYTHING and I realized I had no set the correct PCI slot for my video card. I apologize that I look stupid but as I said this is my first build so its taking me awhile it seems to be working now! I did the dxddiag and it is now reading my video card thank you guys for your responses!
