I was booting my system up for the first time and everything ran for like 5 seconds and then there was a loud pop and burning smell. I know it was the mobo because i saw where and when it hapened. When it happened i panicked, turned it off, and unplugged everything. My concern is if my motherboard is fried because when it happened the green led stayed on and the fans on the gpu and cpu cooler kept spinning. Im sorry if this is a little confusing but im just really frustrated because this is my first ever PC build.https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2939/14381216416_feb7e10a01_o.jpg its the little part under the TW in Network

Just wait it out, contact asus and you should get a mobo in no time with no issues.
Looks like a Mosfet may have failed. These are usually part of the power circuitry to various parts of your system. This one may have been for powering the on-board NIC or PCIe slot.

I would contact ASUS to see if you can have the board replaced. It may still be under warranty.
