I recently installed a new 4GB stick of RAM:

  • ■ Type DDR3
    ■ Size 4096 MBytes
    ■ Manufacturer Hyundai Electronics
    ■ Max Bandwidth PC3-12800 (800 MHz)
    ■ Part Number HMT351U6EFR8C-PB
    ■ Serial Number 4220C039
This is in addition to the 4GB stick of RAM the Desktop came with:

  • ■ Type DDR3
    ■ Size 4096 MBytes
    ■ Manufacturer Hyundai Electronics
    ■ Max Bandwidth PC3-12800 (800 MHz)
    ■ Part Number HMT351U6CFR8C-PB
    ■ Serial Number 18577ED7
The max RAM I can install is 32GB, I'm only trying to get it up to 8GB.
I even brought the RAM from Dell as an upgrade for my machine using the service tag.

The Resources Monitor is showing:
4696MB as Hardware Reserved
8192MB as Installed
3496MB as Total

Please let me know if I have missed out any information

Thanks in advance

Mick

Solution
Try the new one by itself and see if it works and all usable, if so it's compatible, if not, well it's not. If it is see if you can raise DRAM voltage + 0.05, if so , do it, then save exit shut down and try adding the old stick, if still same it's probably not compatible with the old stick. Mixing DRAM isn't ever recommended as it can be and often is problematic, always best to buy the full amount you want in a single package
