Hey guys, first and foremost, my specs-
mobo - m5a97 r2.0
psu - cx 500 corsair
gfx- sapphire dual x r9 270x
cpu- fx 6300 amd

Now i built this rig a year ago, and it was working just fine, but today when i booted it up. it just wont do so. Monitor keeps displaying no signal. When i press the power button, everything lights up. Every fan is running, the gfx is running fine, the hdd and even the optical drive. It's just that it won't boot up.

I have noticed that it boots up after i have left it alone for sometime with no power to it. It boots up and works fine but as soon as i shut it down and then try to boot it up again, it wont happen.

i have swapped the ram onto another slot, pressed the memok! button too. IT booted up after i did that but as soon as i shut it down, the same story. Also one thing that i have noticed is that after i shut it down and then try to boot it up again then everything lights up EXCEPT the power switch light ( the led light next to the power button which gets turned on when the pc is on)

I had no system speaker, got it today. Gives no beep when it boots up. (also where do you put the system speaker, i have put it in the four pin connector where the front panel connections are)

Please revert back as soon as possible, am a college student and i use this pc to study!!!

Update 1: Hey guys , i kept the pc off for a day with no power going to it and updated the bios to version 2601 and since then it has been booting just fine but i am going to keep it under the watch for another week or so and then post results! Ciao.

i cant really borrow because am sort of new in town so that is out of the question. Any other test i could carry out ? How are you sure that it is not the mobo?

that is fine but i will have to wait for like another month to do that as i can not afford it right now, any way i can test out the mobo and the psu would be great. Like the system speaker gives no beep , could that be an indicator.? in some threads i have read that it is

Since inconsistent, the speaker doesn't say too much.

If you have any external USB devices plugged in then I have got a similar issue with my Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5, where it hangs forever before starting windows then is very slow until windows loads. I have found unplugging the USB devices fixes this. Hope it helps.
