Computer turns on for a split second then turns off?!

Solution
Check the standoffs to verify there is not one causing a short, check all PSU connections. That issue is normal for a short or possibly bad PSU. Try pulling all other components but what you need to get output to the screen and see if it powers. Then add one component at a time back on the PSU powering each time.

If it works/worked outside the case and fails inside, you probably have an extraneous or misplaced motherboard stud shorting something under the motherboard.

If you were lucky, nothing got damaged. If you were unlucky, you may have fried multiple components.
