I'm planning to build a gaming computer very soon which I'm planning to mainly game on and do some video editing. I'm wondering if there are new parts/ new generations of computer parts that are going to be released soon that I should be aware of before I a start building.
I heard about skylake but I'm not too sure what exactly it is, is it a new generation of CPU? Is it a new gen of motherboards? I also heard about the new z170 motherboards but I'm also not sure what they are either as in if they are related to skylake and if so how? When exactly is skylake expected to release (I heard people say in August and some say September)? When is the z170 expected to release?
Skylake and z170 are the only 2 things I've heard about that are around the corner and was wondering if there is anything else I should know before I start building. I heard about Pascal but that's in about 1year+ which is too long of a wait. Feel free to list anything if there is anything else.
Really looking forward to building this PC but want to make sure I don't build it right before something better that costs the same gets released. Thanks a lot in advance.
