Is it bad to shut Desktop down multiple times a day?

Basically, I live in Florida and the weather here is unpredictable. About 2 or 3 times a day a thunderstorm will come by. So I shut down everything and unplug it due to the risk of lightning frying everything.
Is this bad for the PC?

Well if you use anything it's naturally going to wear down. Is it bad to shut down your pc multiple times a day? Not that i know of. I guess it also depends on your psu a little. But as far as i'm concerned no, if you shut down your pc properly then it shouldn't be a problem. As long as you don't do something like yank the cord out of the wall.

Might be worth investing in a good surge protector or UPS though.

it use to be a thing.. but i doubt its as thing now.. only issue is never ever hard boot it during a windows configuration.

You have ups and a surge protector? Then their's not much more you can do. Save make a bunker a thousand feet below and run some insane generator set up.
