So real quick, Ive got some movies on my PC Id like to burn to some DVD+R CDs. Ive done it in the past, problem is: Windows media center apparently doesnt support the file type the movies are in. Ive tried MPEG4 and MP4 (maybe user errir with them). Im using VLC Media player to convert the types. Im looking for a file that both my Blu-Ray player can read and that Media center will accept. Any help would be great. Thank you.

** Notice ** I don't do anything with BlueRay, and buy DVDs over Blueray.

That being said, standard DVD players need DVD-R discs, their are very few players that support DVD+R

To make DVDs out of video files I use Bombono, its free and open source. I would suggest you give that a whirl.
