MSI Z97 Pc Mate R9 270x Display Issue

I built a PC with the components listed below, and am having issues with the GPU. Before I added the card to the build, I can get a DVI signal out of integrated graphics just fine. Computer boots into Windows easily. However, when I install the R9 270x Windforce x3 card and try to boot the PC, suddenly there is no signal out of the DVI from the graphics card , or either of the two DVI out ports on the card. I've done some sifting through BIOS settings to no avail, updated the BIOS and motherboard drivers (chipset etc) and tried to run the driver install for the card (why not). Nothing seems to be working.Please Help

i7 4790k
750 Watt Power supply
Msi Z97 Pc Mate
R9 270x windforce
8 gb ram stick

The Graphics card does work i used it on another pc and the pci e slot on the msi motherboard works because i used a R9 290 and it worked with no problem.

remove AMD card, boot with Intel IGP, run DDU (it will ask to reboot in safe mode, reboot, uninstall all old AMD and nvidia drivers after reboot), then shutdown again, install 270x and install 15.7 amd driver.

hows that going to work? i put in a r9 290 and it worked without installing anything. when i plug in my dvi to the graphics card i get no picture on the screen.
