Hi, I recently purchased the Ghost Recon Future Soldier game and installed it on my laptop. My laptop specs are as follows:

Win 8.1 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-4500U @ 1.80Ghz
RAM: 8 GB
Video Card: AMD 8850M
Hard Disk: 500GB

And based on the game CD cover, the requirements were:

Win Vista/7 both 32 and 64 bit
Processor: Intel Pentium D 3.0GHz (Intel Core2 Quad Q9450 or higher recommended)
RAM: 2GB
Video Card: Shader 4.0 enabled video card AMD/ATi HD 5850 or better recommended
Hard Disk: 25 GB

I successfully installed the game and could run the game, but i didn't play the game as I got caught up with work. However, just 2-3 days later, my laptop's motherboard failed
and I had to replace it.

Is it because I ran the game which requires 3.0GHz processor on a 1.80GHz processor (I did not overclock my processor) that lead to my motherboard to fail?

Or could my motherboard have failed due to some other reasons and if so, could my system handle the future soldier game with the above specs?

I'm not really computer techie guy, kindly requesting some advise, I just want to play this game. Thank you.
