Would the GTX 580 run GTA V?

So I'm building a new pc soon. And a friend of mine was offering to lend me a GTX 580 if I am short of a video card. I want to run games like GTA V, Far cry 4, Skyrim, not really expecting to push the limits, but I don't want anything slow. I plan to begin use of this pc at the beginning of 2016, and use it through to 2017 before throwing in a new GPU. Would the 580 be up to it, or not even worth looking at?

Solution
yes the 580 will run all them games. gta v will just have to be run at medium with low medium textures and low draw distance/shadow distance.
the 580 is still a relatively meaty card for gaming. it just comes up a bit short on vram but will play anything you throw at it from that list. and most of them maxed out.
fact is if you find a game that doesnt run well on a 580 it means the game devs have artificially inflated the specs by filling vram with unneeded textures. or have forgone game optimization to make it look like the game needs meatier hardware to run.
What are the rest of your system specs, including your PSU mfg/model/wattage? Is it your intention to game at 1080p resolution at 60 Hz or other? But taking a guess, I'd say that you should definitely be able to play GTA 5, as the Tom's Hardware GPU hierarchy list shows the 580 on approximately the same level as the GTX 960 (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html)

Specs are:

Intel i7 4790K
I will likely go with a PSU of arround 850-1000 W
16 GB Ram

I intend to game at 1080p but upgrade to 1440p when I get a new GPU.
