Can someone take a look at this build. I've never done this before, so i could definitely use some feedback =). http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PRTzrH

AMD FX 6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor 109 EUR mycom.be
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P Motherboard 78 EUR bytesatwork.be
Sapphire DUAL-X R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 OC With Boost GPU 186 EUR Bytes@work.be
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz 58 EUR mycom.be
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive 53 EUR mycom.be
EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply 53 EUR bytesatwork.be
Cooler Master N400 47 EUR bytesatwork.be
Cooler Master Hyper 103 CPU Cooler 27 EUR bytesatwork.be

I want to know if i should get better components for a similar price and whether everything is compatible. I'm from Belgium and here this build would cost me 608 EUR.

What I'm really sweating over is whether the CPU and GPU I've chosen are a good pick (as well as the mobo). Any feedback in that area is most welcome.

Thanks in advance =D!

Solution
Everything will fit in the spec 01 (all the coolers I listed are 92mm ones) although personally I would take the n400 as I think its a better case ( & a little cheaper)
http://www.bytesatwork.be/cooler-master-n400.html

That's personal preference though - you may just prefer the spec-01 looks wise.

If that psu is the 500b (bronze ) at €53 then its absolutely fine IMO.

Under €200 you're not going to do better than a 270x looking at it.unless you're prepared to drop an extra €40 on a gtx 960 you've done as well as you can

What's your opinion on the cpu and gpu that I've chosen, are they the best I can get for this type of budget?
I forgot to add that the main purpose of this pc will be to play games such as the Total War series and several MMO's like ArcheAge Online.

Thanks for your reply =).

That will be a good and well balanced budget build. For example, people are playing BF4 on High-to-Ultra with that combo and a mild overclock. Just check YouTube.

And no, it won't bottleneck in multiplayer. Saw a video yesterday with a guy on an FX 6350 and GTX 970 on a server with 40+ people and he was getting 70-90 FPS.

Only thing I would suggest, if it fits your budget, is going with a good after market CPU cooler. The stock cooler with the 6300 is terrible. However, the stock cooler for the FX 6350 is actually decent. Might be better to start with the 6350 for now and use the stock cooler over getting an aftermarket cooler. You'll have a better CPU and you can always add a better cooler later. So consider either aftermarket cooler or 6350 with stock cooler.

Thank you very much for your reply!
I'm going to look into the FX 6350 right away. I don't know much about overclocking to be honest. Is it possible with all the AMD FX processors? If I would want to overclock, can my mobo handle it and should I get an aftermarket cooler for sure in that case? If I don't intend to overclock I'll never need an additional aftermarket cooler? I've heard that most AMD FX processors tend to heat up easily, not sure if it's entirely true though.

In any case an AMD FX-6350 will cost me 25 euro more than the 6300. In this price range am I still "better off" with an AMD over an Intel processor?

One last question, what about a "heat sink" do I have that in this build or....?

Thanks again =)!

The evga psu is good enough for those components IMO on a tight budget

If the 6350 is €25 more than the 6300 then you would be better off sticking with the 6300 & spending that €25 on an aftermarket CPU cooler IMO.

If you can find it the gigabyte 970a-ds3p would be a better board & should be around the same price.

The Gigabyte 970a-ds3p is actually 15 euro cheaper so that's great! Any ideas on the cooler?

Website mate ??

The raijintek aidos would be my first choice in the UK as its cheap & an excellent performer.
It should be available in Belgium as its produced in Germany.

Failing that
1. Coermaster hyper 103
2. Coolermaster tx3 evo
3. Zalman cnps5x

In order of preference from top to bottom.

I'll be getting most of my stuff at Bytesatwork, for the mobo: http://www.bytesatwork.be/gigabyte-ga-970a-ds3p.html
I'd probably opt for the coolermaster hyper 103 which costs 27 euro at Bytesatwork: http://www.bytesatwork.be/cooler-master-hyper-103.html
Finally found a shop that sells the Raijin Aidos: http://www.conrad.be/ce/nl/product/1220385/RAIJINTEK-Aidos-heatpipe-CPU-koeler-PWM-92-mm-0P105246 It's cheaper but due to shipping will cost 27 euro as well. However there are ways around the 7 euro shippingfee.
But for the sake of argument if prices are exactly the same, which one should I buy? Still the Aidos cooler?

Thank you =).

I've not used the hyper 103 personally - it looks to be pretty much on a par with the aidos.
I have used the aidos though & rate it highly.
The aidos is cheaper in the UK ,if the 103 was cheaper Id probably give it a try.
Either of those will do a great job with a 6300 (even overclocked well past 4ghz) so go for whichever is the easier option for you.

Ok if I can get the Aidos at 20 euro I'll buy that one, otherwise I'll just get the hyper 103 at Bytesatwork since I'll be getting most my gear there anyway.
So this is my new line-up:

AMD FX 6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P Motherboard
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB Dual-X GPU
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case
Cooler Master Hyper 103 CPU Cooler

Just to be sure: The GPU I've chosen costs 185 EUR. Are there any other GPU's in the same price range I may have overlooked and that have a better performance?
Concerning the case, I'm going for a mid tower case, should I measure anyhting in advance (i.e. the aftermarket cooler) or will everything fit in this case just fine?
You said before that my PSU will work fine. To make it a bit more futureproof should I opt for a slightly stronger one? If so, any idea which one?

Thanks a million =)!

Mhm I might actually take the case you linked =). But the thing is I like the Led lights + window in the side. They have the case you linked with a small window as well (slightly different), but it doesn't seem all that nice on that one.
I've found a store where they sell r9 270x for 167 EUR. So I guess I'll stick with that. Is there a big difference between the r9 270x and the gtx 960? If not, then I'm definitely sticking to the r9 270x.

Thanks =)!

There's a difference but definitely not €50-60 worth now you've found a cheaper 270x.
You can look for an r9 280 - you may find one round the €180 pricepoint if you're lucky.

Stick with the spec01 if you like the looks mate - as I said its down to personal preference ,its a decent enough case for your build.

Apparently I made a mistake, thought I found an r9 270X for 167 EUR, but just noticed that it was a regular r9 270. So I'm back at 186 EUR for the Sapphire DUAL-X R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 OC With Boost. The GPU requires 500W, which is exactly what my PSU provides. I still shouldn't get one with a higher wattage, say 550-600W?

Thanks =)!

Aha, good to know, you're a hero =D. Thanks for all your help. I think I'm ready to get those parts tomorrow =).
Before I forget, should I get a wifi adapter, or whatever it's called, for my pc? Any worth recommending?

Possibly one of my last questions. My brother recently gave me his previous monitor which is 8 years old, a Packard Bell Maestro 191w. It's not too good, but it's always good to have a back-up I suppose. Anyway, I was wondering whether the ASUS VS247HR would be the way to go on a low budget. I've found one for 139 EUR.

I'm always open to suggestions though.

Thanks =)!
