Question on Optical vs Laser mouse sensors

Hello, I am looking into getting the Razer Deathadder Chroma mouse as it is currently cheaper than the standard version for some reason but I noticed it is optical sensor. The mouse I have now is laser (Corsair M65) and it is a pretty nice sensor. I want to change because I don't like the robot feel to this one and want a more lightweight ergonomic mouse for FPS. I just recently plugged my CMstorm Xornet mouse that also has a optical sensor and the first thing I noticed was whenever I would lift my mouse off the pad to re position it, the sensor would detect the pad even whilst off the pad so I would be looking around in game just when I was trying to re position my mouse as I have a smaller mouse pad. Im bad at describing things so this may not make sense but the point is, it made it unplayable for me and I was wandering if its just that mouse that has that problem or if ALL optical mice have that detection even at height. Anyone with a Razer Deathadder out there that can testify to this?

Solution
Lift Off Distance depends on the Sensor and Settings itself, not the illumination method, that said, the DA Chroma with its 3989 has a low LOD.

Admirable

I've heard there are minor differences.
As long as the sensors are gaming grade you should be fine ^^.
