I have just now gotten a new graphics card (XFX r7 260x double dissipation) and I have my normal monitor hooked up but my second monitor will not work. I am pretty sure that I have all of the latest updates and drivers. I have read online that it might be because I am using a dvi to vga adapter. I was wondering how I could fix this.
-Thanks in advance!

Solution
If your 2nd monitor is an analog VGA monitor, it won't be able to display the signal from DVI or HDMI through an passive adapter. You will have to get a digital to analog converter to get it to work.

like what?

You might know all your parts, but we have/had no idea. System specs is a good start, but we still have no idea what monitors you are, and how you are connecting them. I'm running a 3770K, 16GBs of ram, 7950/280 GPU, Samsung 470 128GB SSD OS drive, Samsung 840pro 256GB Steam drive, two 4TB data drives, 3 25.6" LCDs. Main is hooked up using a DL DVI cable, while the surrounds are hooked up using active mDP to SL DVI adapters. My 40" LCD TV is hooked up to the HDMI port on my card over a 25' cable.

What cords can your monitor use? What are you trying to use right now? What adapters, if any, are you using? You might not need an active adapter at all.
