I'm building a PC and this is my first time. I want to know if everything is compatible. Here is my setup:

Case- DIYPC gamemax-BK black dual USB 3.0 ATX full tower

Motherboard- ASUS z97-E

CPU- Intel Core I5 devils canyon

RAM- CORSAIR Vengeance LP 8gb (2 4gb)

Hard Drive- Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB

Video Card- SAPPHIR Radeon R7 250x

Power Supply- Corsair builder series cx 600 watt

Yes it is.
Is this for gaming? I ask because you have chosen a fast CPU, good sized PSU, and high-end board, but a rather weak gfx card.

Yes it is for gaming, I am on a budget, are there any better video cards that you recommend?

Depending on your budget for a gfx card, yes. Many. Your PSU's capacity and your CPU's performance will allow you to use just about any card you can afford.
