I have a transcend 2TB external HDD which suddenly stopped showing up in file explorer so went to disk manager & it is recognized by the system but marked as unknown & the No size is being shown either. I went to initialize it using MBR but threw cyclic redundancy check error. I am guessing bad sectors on the HDD but what to do here. Plz HELP

Hey there, Abdullah Zaber!

Sorry for the late reply, but it seems like your external drive is somehow faulty. I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable and a different computer to try and initialize the drive there. If the CRC data error pops up again when beginning the initialization process, I think it's best to contact the HDD manufacturer's technical support for assistance.
If it's still under warranty, you should be able to RMA it and get a replacement from them.

Hope this helps. Good luck! :)
