hello,
I have windows 8.1 , which i clean installed on my laptop.

Laptop details-

Acer aspire v5-571 (2012 model)

It came with windows 7 home basic , so i clean installed windows 8.1 on it and observed that 'Acer' logo on computer properties was gone.

So the real question , can i go back to windows 7 home basic and still use the windows 7 home basic activation key that came with my laptop?

and how can i get the stock operating system that came with my laptop? ( optional )

any answers will be appreciated.

If you have the product key, it is possible to go back to Windows 7. You can use this Microsoft site to validate your key:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/genuine

In order to get Windows 7 on your machine, you will need to create a bootable Windows 7 drive and install Windows 7 over Windows 8.1.
